Fintech, or financial technology, has drastically changed the landscape of the financial services industry. From blockchain to Artificial Intelligence (AI) to robo-advisors, companies in the financial services industry are always looking for ways to stay in front of the ever-changing needs of consumers.

This spring, members of the Millennium Trust team attended the LendIt Fintech USA 2019 conference in San Francisco, which had thousands of banking, fintech and investment executives in attendance.

We are honored to have been a sponsor of the LendIt Fintech USA conference since it started in 2013, and have witnessed the industry evolve firsthand over the years. Check out some of our top highlights from this year’s event:

Millennium Trust API

One exciting element of the conference is learning about the innovative product launches coming out in the industry. At the conference, the Millennium Trust Fund Custody team launched the Millennium Trust API, which increases access to investments through self-directed IRAs. This secure Application Programing Interface (API) acts as a connection between investment platforms and Millennium Trust, allowing investment platforms to enable a streamlined user experience within their platform, while increasing access to retirement assets.

LendIt Fintech Industry Awards Dinner and CEO Roundtable

We were honored to be nominated for the “Top Service Provider” category after winning the award in 2018. This accolade is awarded to the service provider that has demonstrated deep expertise, unique value, strong ROI, commitment to clients and the fostering of a deeper understanding of Fintech.

Additionally, our own Director of Client Services, Meg Zwick, who has attended every LendIt conference since inception, served as a judge for “Top Emerging Technology Company” and “Fintech Woman of the Year.” Meg also moderated the “CEO Roundtable: How to Gain Market Share in a Downturn”, which featured Bill Parker from Rocket Loans, Tom Burnside from LendingPoint, David Kimball from Prosper and Jeffrey Meiler from Marlette Funding.

Overall, the Millennium Trust team had a great time celebrating and learning from innovators and leaders in the industry.

Uncovering Trends in Fintech

Of course, the main aspect of the LendIt Fintech conference that we look forward to each year is learning more about industry trends and engaging with other industry professionals and investors.

This year, we made many valuable connections and got to hear from experts on topics related to consumer behavior, machine learning, what’s next in financial innovation and emerging markets, to name a few. We also co-hosted a networking event with eOriginal, Opus Bank and Wells Fargo, and enjoyed the opportunity to discuss trends and make connections with our peers.

Check out the 2019 highlights from LendIt Academy’s Founder, Peter Renton, and stay tuned for LendIt Fintech Europe 2019 this September!
