Recently, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) sponsored Corporate Compliance & Ethics Week. Here at Millennium, we celebrated the efforts of our Compliance team and highlighted the overall importance of compliance and ethics in the workplace.

So, what is compliance? To put it simply, compliance works to identify and manage risk. This involves advising the organization on risks and requirements, designing and implementing controls, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of controls, and resolving difficulties as they occur.

Entrusting a business that is ethical and held to high standards is important to our clients because they need to know their information is protected, accounts are secured and that we put their interest first.

Ultimately, compliance and ethics are at the core of our firm’s values to Do Right, Collaborate, Innovate, Excel and Celebrate. We are committed to conducting business with the highest degree of ethics and integrity and incorporate that mindset into our daily actions and behaviors.

And, even though compliance is a serious and important topic, it doesn’t have to be intimidating or boring... It can actually be fun!

Our Corporate Compliance & Ethics Week theme this year was: “The Power is Yours,” which illustrates that the power to Do Right is up to every individual at Millennium. Throughout the week, we participated in superhero-themed activities and challenges as a fun way to test and increase our knowledge of compliance and ethics topics, while also getting to learn more about the role of the Compliance team.

To further celebrate Corporate Compliance & Ethics week, Jennifer Abernathy, our own Chief Compliance Officer, contributed a fun blog post about Ponzi schemes to The Compliance & Ethics Blog.

Check out our blog, Contrary to Popular Belief, Compliance is a Great Friend of Sales, to learn more about the importance of compliance.
