Millennium Trust Company Refreshes Alternative Investment Platform in Response to Investor Demand

July 26, 2018

Increased resources and research tools bolsters investor education

OAK BROOK, IL - July 26, 2018 - Millennium Trust Company, LLC®, (“Millennium Trust”) a leading retirement and custody services provider to advisors, financial institutions, businesses and individuals, announced today the launch of its enhanced education platform on the Millennium Alternative Investment Network® (MAIN®). MAIN is a free research, education and alternative investment resource to help investors and advisors increase their understanding of alternative assets, and invest through simplified and streamlined investment processes.

Volatile markets and the extended bull run have contributed to growing interest from individual investors for non-traded alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate, commodities, and marketplace lending. According to a survey conducted by PWC, in 2004, $2.5 trillion was invested in alternatives. By 2012 that figure had more than doubled to $6.4 trillion. And by 2025 it's expected to reach upward of $21.1 trillion.1

“We recognized advisors and investors were interested in alternative investment education, research and access and designed MAIN to fill that void in the market,” said Tom Daley, Managing Director, Custody Services. “Our recent upgrades include additional educational tools and resources to ensure investors have access to pertinent information to help inform the right investment decisions for their financial goals. Investors who wish to invest in the alternative assets they identify can then do so in a streamlined manner directly through the MAIN platform.”

The educational resources and research tools available on the MAIN platform are offered to all investors and advisors at no cost. The resources offered cover a breadth of alternative asset classes, ranging from private equity and hedge funds to crowdfunding and multi-strategy investments. Investors interested in making investments through the platform can do so through a Millennium Trust custody account.
