What’s on Your 401(k) Plan Year-End To-Do List?

It’s time for year-end plan reviews. It may feel like extra (and maybe unnecessary) work, but addressing these issues now may help ensure that your plan runs smoothly and efficiently in 2020.

As plan sponsors close out 2019 and prepare for 2020, the items on year-end to-do lists should include reviewing plan provisions and completing key tasks to offer assurance that fiduciary responsibilities have been met and plans are ready for whatever may be ahead, including audits.

Some of the items on a 401(k) plan’s to-do list may include searching for missing participants, completing automatic rollovers of eligible accounts and addressing uncashed check issues.
