EDUCATE YOURSELF AGAINST FRAUD
Check Before You Invest
Check Before You Invest is an investor education awareness campaign created by the Retirement Industry Trust Association (RITA), the trade association for self-directed retirement plan providers, of which Millennium Trust is a member. The purpose of this initiative is to promote investor awareness and provide educational materials through resources provided by state, federal, and private agencies.
Today, more than ever, it is important that you conduct research to make informed investment decisions and take steps to avoid fraud.
- Be aware of false or grandiose claims/endorsements;
- Be mindful of individuals who offer investments that are "approved by the government" or imply that because the transaction occurs through a custodian that the custodian approves the investment; or
- that the investment offers high returns but carries little or no risk.
There are risks associated with any investment. Neither governmental agencies nor self-directed IRA custodians endorse or guarantee specific investments. The fact that an investment is permitted in an IRA should not be used in determining whether the investment is appropriate for you.
Millennium Trust does not evaluate or perform due diligence on any investment or investment sponsor.
