Director, Investment Banking Academy - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Rob Metzger is a member of the faculty of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Business, serving as the Director of the Investment Banking Academy and a Lecturer in the Department of Finance, roles he has held since 2015. Prior to that, Rob served as a Partner at William Blair & Company from 2005-2015 after joining the firm in 1999. He served as the Head of the Technology and Financial Services Investment Banking Groups from 2011-2015 and 2007 – 2015, respectively. During his 15+ year career at William Blair, he completed in excess of 100 transactions. Prior to joining William Blair & Company, he worked at Price Waterhouse in Audit and Audit Advisory Services, in the Financial Institutions Group at A.T Kearney, Inc., and in the Investment Banking Division of ABN AMRO Incorporated.
In addition to his current roles at the University of Illinois, Rob is a Board Member of Millennium Trust and WageWorks, Inc., and a Senior Advisor to MissionOG, a Philadelphia-based venture capital firm focused on B2B investing. He holds an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Strategy from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University and a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
